Kenya's oldest political party, Kanu, has announced it will field a presidential candidate in the August 8, general election.
The party's National Elections Board invited interested aspirants to apply for the party's ticket, in-readiness for the nominations.
''We invite eligible Kenyans who subscribe to the ideals, vision, mission, objects and core values of the party to present their expression of interest,'' Kanu said in an announcement through a daily newspaper.
Kanu whose chairman is Baringo senator Gideon Moi, also asked all aspirants interested in Member of County Assembly (MCA), Member of Parliament (MP), senatorial and gubernatorial seats through its ticket, to apply before February 21.
Kanu had announced that it would not field a presidential candidate in 2017, until 2022.
