Kanu will go it alone in the presidential race, the party’s election board chairman Eddie Kivuvani said on Monday.
According to the Star, Kivuvani further said the party will field candidates in all the elective posts on offer during the August 8 general election.
"We invite eligible Kenyans to present their expression of interests in confidence to the national election board," Kivuvani said in a paid advertisement.
Consequently, he has invited the youth, women and disabled to join Kanu and seek elective seats.
The announcement deals a big blow to both Jubilee Party and the opposition who were banking on the former ruling party to join them ahead of the elections.
