The independence party is considering to elevate Baringo Senator Gideon Moi to the position of Party Leader.

It is also looking at having a national chairman serving under the party leader.

Speaking to a local paper Kanu Secretary General Nick Salat said a committee has been formed to work on the new brand.

“We want to expand that committee to bring on board many other people, who will inject more ideas on how we should move forward,” Salat said.

“The party plans to fill vacant positions occasioned by defections since last year,” he said.

Kanu leaders who have defected to Jubilee Party are West Pokot’s Simon Kachapin, Mogotio MP Hellen Sambili, Kuresoi North MP Moses Cheboi, Belgut’s Eric Keter, and Mr Samuel Moroto of Kapenguria.
