Independence party KANU will scoop more electoral seats across Rift Valley province that Jubilee party, Secretary General Nick Salat has said.

Rivalry between the two parties alongside Isaac Rutto’s CCM party has intensified, threatening to crack the base of DP William Ruto.

And on Monday, Salat accused Ruto of being ‘envious’ of KANU adding that he should be ready to seeing its growing strength in August.

“Everyone knows that KANU has regained its control in Rift Valley and that we shall produce many elected leaders on August.

“Ruto is envying us because he knows we shall outperform Jubilee. We are ready to take the mantle and my prayer is that we lead our people properly,” he added.

Ironically, despite supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reelection, party chairman Gideon Moi has insisted that he will rival the DP in 2022 presidential elections.

And the rivalry has led to persistent wrangles in the vote rich Rift Valley with KANU leaders sanctioning Kenyatta to tame his deputy over his utterances towards its leaders.
