Speaking at Solai village on Sunday when he issued out Uwezo cheques to youth groups, Moi said Kanu was a unique party with a solid identity, and dissolving it will be like killing national heritage.

He added that the party was a national party with formidable structures, and it was capable of mounting a presidential campaign on its own.

“After the 2013 general elections Kanu agreed to work with the Jubilee Coalition, but now they have started talking about a new outfit of which we are not aware of and it must be understood that as Kanu, we are preparing to have our candidate on the presidential ballot in 2017,” said Moi.

“We will marshal enough resources which will enable us mount serious campaigns, which will see us take back what belonged to us and that is power. We will do it on our own and we will not need any coalition,” said Moi.

Rongai KANU branch chairman John Karasinga said soon, Kanu will start revamping by moving across the country to register new members in preparation of 2017.

“We are not a small party and we will prove this in 2017 because the great power and might of Kanu will be reborn in 2017 and those who think it is dead will  come running back,” said Karasinga.
