Struggling to find words, she recounted how it all started 15 years ago and expressed her gratitude to the Almighty for the far she had made.

She also thanked Wachira Waruru who held her hand when she embarked on her journalistic career at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) and others who were there for her.

For sure, it has not been a gilded trajectory.

She had to battle all manner of hurdles.

"I don't know what to say. Sometimes one runs out of words. I want to thank God for all those 15 years. I would also like to thank those who stood with and held my hand through the journey. I want to thank Wachira Waruru who held my hand. The editors, the reporters and those who watch us. There would be no Kanze without them, " she said.

Kanze will join State House's communication team as her next assignment, a second act.

Her departure has elicited mixed reactions with the vast majority of her fans wishing her all the best.

Her sunny disposition and humility attracted mind-blowing ratings for Citizen Television.
