The National Cohesion and Integration Commission Chairperson (NCIC) Francis Ole Kaparo supported the mass transfer of Secondary school heads by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

According to Kaparo, the transfer will play a big role in promoting national cohesion among different communities in Kenya.

“This is a move that will enable Kenyan communities understand each other and co-exist peacefully,” said the NCIC boss.

Last week, a total of 557 primary and secondary school headteachers received letters of deployment to their new work stations effective January.

The move has elicited alot of reactions from different stakeholders.

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) leadership has already threatened to call for a nationwide teachers’ strike in January if the ministry goes on to implement the mass transfers.
