Photo/nation.co.keNational Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) chairman Francis Ole Kaparo has warned youths against being lured to violence by selfish politicians.
In an interview with the Standard, Kaparo warned that politicians who will be found sponsoring and hiring youth into violence will be dealt with according to the law.
The NCIC boss also warned politicians who perpetuate hooliganism saying they will not be spared.
“Politicians and individuals who fuel chaotic campaigns and hate speech will have themselves to blame if they are caught engaging in hate mongering and chaotic campaigns,” the NCIC boss said as quoted by the Standard.
Kaparo asked political parties to take action against their members and aspirants who perpetuate violence.
He said that the government has put in place proper security measures to ensure safety of Kenyans before, during ad after the August polls.Kapro urged politicians to preach peace harmony and spearhead peaceful August polls.
He said that NCIC will work closely with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and other state agencies to tame rogue politicians ahead of the August 8 polls.
