Atheltics Kenya (AK) has warned athletes in the country against engaging in doping activities saying they are bringing the nation's athletics prowess to disrepute. The federation's chairman Jackson Tuwei on Wednesday slammed athletes engaging in the vice for being dishonest adding that they would not entertain such elements."Why must you cheat your way to glory? Kindly desist because you are not only doing a disgrace to yourself but to the country as well. The law will certainly catch up with you one day", he said. The Athletics boss also revealed that the Kapsabet training camp is the leading doping centre in the country and said they would soon narrow down to individuals behind the scandal at the said camp.Kenya's reputation for middle and long distance running has greatly come under sharp scrutiny following failed doping tests among its key athletes, among them former three-times Boston and Chicago marathon winner, Rita Jeptoo, and Jemimah Sumgong, the first Kenyan female to win an Olympics marathon gold medal.
