Kaptembwa Member of County Asembly Daniel Ambale Odindo has appealed for emergency funds from the county government to take care of the 20 families displaced by floods in the area.

Ambale cited that the families who were currently on refuge and were beign hosted by well wishers were in dire need of food and blankets. “

I am appealing to the governor and other well wishers to come and help this people who lost all their property after they were swept by floods.

The county should create an emergency kitty where such people would be catered for,” he cited Ambale cited that the onset of the heavy rains in the area had triggered the sweeping of the semi permanent houses in the area He expressed concern that there might be an outbreak of diseases if nothing is done.

“The storm water is also dangerous and can lead to cases of pneumonia and flu,” he cited He also called on the county to come up with a long term solution to dealing with such floods , citing that this was an annual occurrence.

“We would like to incorporate experts who will come and inform and as well advice us on what needs to be done to prevent such occurrences. We need to solve the problem once and for all,” he quipped
