Upon conclusion of the Kenya Karate Federation (KKF) action in Malindi at the weekend, focus now shifts to the Nakuru Invitational Karate Championships that will be held at Menengai Social Hall on December 2.

It will be an open competition and participants will include children, cadets and players who participated in the National Novices and Senior Championships.

KKF Rift Valley Regional Secretary Paul Kamau has said at least 13 teams have confirmed participation.

These include Kenya Defence Forces, Kenya Prisons Service,  Kenya Police Service and National Youth Service.

Others are Technical University of Kenya, Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology and Egerton University.

“More teams are welcome for the one-day competition, which will be key in exposing different talent across the country," Kamau said.

"This will be the last tournament of the season and we will award participants at the event."

KKF President Enos Muguku said the federation also expects participants from the 47 counties.

“We expect a good representation from the counties but no foreign teams have been invited for the competition,” he said.
