Kenya Karate Federation (KKF) has kicked off a national trial aimed at selecting players who will represent the country in the upcoming Africa Karate championships.The championships are slated for March this year in Durban, South Africa.The federation is targeting to recruit about 30 players who will join the national team to feature in the All African and Commonwealth games.Trials kicked off on Saturday at Kasarani stadium with participants from Nairobi, Kisumu, Nakuru and Kilifi counties taking part.Winners in various categories will receive medals and personalised trophies with the next round trials slated for next week Saturday.This is in preparation for the upcoming international championships where Kenya seeks to clinch more gold medals.A provisional squad is expected be named on Wednesday before the final names of players who will be selected are officially unveiled.
