Kariobangi Sharks striker Masoud Juma with his SJAK award on Monday evening.(Photo/Futaa.com)Harambee Stars and Kariobangi Sharks striker Masoud Juma continued to impress after he was crowned the 2017 Sports Journalist Association of Kenya (SJAK) golden boot winner.The pacy goal poacher scored seventeen goals during the the recently concluded 2017 Kenya Premier League campaign to help his team finish in an impressive third position behind champions Gor Mahia and second placed Sofapaka Fc.It was sweet revenge for the Kenyan international after losing out to Gor Mahia's Meddie Kagere in the Most Valuable Player (MVP) category as he trounced the Rwandese who scored three goals less to the top scorer award.Ulinzi Stars Stephen Waruru,Gor Mahia's Jacques Tuyisenge and Nakumatt's Kepha Aswani were jointly third after scoring 13 goals each.Kericho Zoo playmaker Nicholas Kipkurui was named the New/Young player of the year following hos stellar performance with the league debutants.Kipkurui plundered in ten goals and seven assists to help his side overcome a relegation prospect and finish twelfth on the KPL log.He beat AFC Leopard's sensation Vinceny Oburu and Nzoia Sugar's Brian Otieno who emerges third.Sofapaka Fc tactician Sam Ssimbwa was named the coach of the year after helping his Batoto Ba Mungu charges to a second finish in the KPL 2017 season.
