Defiant Mathare MP Stephen Kariuki has maintained that he is ready for a by election should the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi declare his seat vacant.
Kariuki, with nine others risks being subjected to a by election, months to General election following the decision by ODM party to expel them.
On Tuesday, Political Parties Registrar Lucy Ndung’u said she had officially informed the affected leaders of the ODM’s decision and could write to the speaker to inform him about the decision.
“I am not scared being subjected to a by election. ODM doesn’t vote people and I am confident that the same people who voted for me still have trust in me,” he said.
“I am in Jubilee to stay and no one can scare me. People should respect our political decisions and if I have to pay by going for an election, so be it,” he added.
Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba and Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya are among the high profile people affected by ODM decision.
