Farmers in Nakuru County have been urged to cooperate with the Kenya Agricultural Research and Livestock Organisation (Karlo) officers touring the county.
Karlo officers are traversing different parts of the county to get views that will be used in formulating the institution's strategic plan.
Speaking after hosting Karlo staff from the Naivasha Dairy Institute in his office at the county headquarters on Thursday, Deputy Governor Joseph Ruto noted the organisation was a major partner in the agricultural sector while further expressing the county's commitment to working with them.
"As a government, we are ready to support Karlo's initiatives through the department of Agriculture, Livestock Development and Fisheries," Ruto said.
He asked the organisation to liaise with the relevant stakeholders to harness agricultural resources in Nakuru for improved agricultural production.
Karlo is undertaking a baseline survey in the county for the preparation of the strategic plan 2015-2020.
