Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua says she will continue giving constructive criticism on performance of Jubilee government despite her unexpected move to back President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection bid.
Karua, who is warming for Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat has also promised to continue raising issues affecting ordinary Kenyans at the national level.
"The fact that I will be supporting Uhuru doesn't disqualify me from raising national issues. That is my responsibility and I will always defend the truth for the sake of ordinary people," she said during Wednesday interview at Citizen TV.
Karua insisted that it is a patriotic duty of all Kenyans to promote checks and balances by ensuring the government of the day is subjected to transparency and accountability.
"Criticising the government is a patriotic duty because if we do not point out the shortcomings then people will never get the services they deserve," she said
"I will not tire from promoting good governance because it's my constitutional duty. My move should not worry Kenyans at all because my position on critical issues remain unchanged," added Karua.
