Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja has challenged political parties willing to support President Uhuru Kenyatta's presidential re-election in the 2017 polls to fold up and join the newly formed Jubilee Party.
In an address to the media on Friday, the MP warned that those who will not heed to his call risk losing support from Jubilee Party supporters and will be treated as the opposition.
“In my opinion, they have to dissolve their parties to follow President Uhuru Kenyatta. Otherwise, their parties are an opposition to Jubilee,” he said.
“If they support the President because of his philosophy, principles of leadership and because he is doing a good job, then they should dissolve their parties. Otherwise, our supporters are not going to support them," Sakaja added.
The former TNA chairman's call comes days after Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua declared an interest in the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat where the branch said it will support for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2017 polls, but declined to dissolve her party.
