According to Karua, her party remains  independent despite working closely with Cord in recently.

While addressing the press early this week in Nakuru, Karua maintained that she continue working with the opposition on matters of National interest.

“Let it be made clear that we are an independent party and as much as we are working with other opposition parties, we remain to be independent as NARC Kenya,"said Karua.

The former presidential candidate further insisted that her party will field candidates in elective posts and she had no intentions of merging with any other coalition.

“NARC Kenya is all about offering alternative leadership to Kenyans and we are working towards that. We will be fielding candidates for all elective seats including in 2017 and we are in the process of rolling out a members recruitment drive in all corners of the country in preparation for the 2017 polls,” she was quoted by the Nation.

Karua added that NARC Kenya's sole aim was to offer alternative leadership to Kenyans.
