After losing the petition contesting Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru's win in the August 8 general election, former Gichugu MP Martha Karua has said she will push her fight further.

Taking to her Twitter handle, Karua said she was returning to courts to ensure her case is given another chance.

"I am appealing so it's not over yet," Karua sai.

In the first petition filed at the Kerugoya High Court, the Narc Kenya leader said the elections were not free and fair.

Through her lawyer Gitobu Imanyara, Karua cited the Supreme Court ruling which nullified the election of President Uhuru Kenyatta for a second term.

However, the High Court today dismissed the petition on grounds that it was "hopeless, defective and incurable".
