Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has absolved Narc-Kenya leader from criticism following her unexpected decision to back President Uhuru Kenyatta re-election in 2017.
The Former Justice and legal Minister and a renowned critic of President Kenyatta threw her support behind the president a move that did not go down well with opposition supporters.
And Bosire during a cheque issuance ceremony at Riamoni secondary school on Friday insisted that Karua’s move was democratic adding that she was not in the opposition Coalition Cord.
“Karua has a right like any Kenyan to support Presidential candidate of her own. Whether it spoils her reputation or not, it’s purely her decision and should be respected by all of us,” he said.
Bosire added: “I don’t remember the last time she was in CORD since I am hearing many people say that it’s a blow to Raila Odinga. It is not and it will never be. As opposition, we are stronger even without her presence.”
The former Gichugu MP is expected to run for Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat on a Narc-Kenya ticket alongside embattled former devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru.
