Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru wants the court to throw out a petition filed against her by Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua.
Waiguru told the Kerugoya High court that the petition lacked merit and stands dismissal.
The governor, through her lawyers Paul Nyamondi and Kamotho Waiganjo, argued that the petition was not properly filed.
She said the petition does not raise substantial matters of law.
"I want the petition dismissed since it does not meet all the criteria of law", said Nyamondi.
But, according to Karua, the petition was properly filed and asked the court to grant her more time to prove.
" I will prove that my petition is a weighty matter in law and was filed in the court as by the law", said Karua.
