Ngewa MCA Karungo Wa Thang’wa has received a major boost in his bid to oust Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi.
This is after former Limuru MP George Nyanja threw in the towel, endorsing the young politician.
Nyanja, who was running as an independent candidate, quit the senatorial race recently and threw his weight behind the vocal MCA.
The former MP said he had stepped down in honour of his late father Njau Nyanja.
However, Senator Wamatangi dismissed the endorsement saying he was confident that he will defeat the former Kameme FM radio presenter.
"I am not worried at all. Am confident of retaining the seat because my track record speaks for itself," Wamatangi said.
The Jubilee candidate cited his achievements during his tenure in the Senate chief among them being sponsoring the Micro & Small Enterprises Amendment Bill that empowers small traders in the country.
He also bragged that he sponsored the Assumption of Office of Governors Bill that ensures a smooth transition without any loss of public assets or finances in the devolved units.
Thang'wa is vying as an independent candidate after losing to the incumbent during Jubilee Party primaries held two months ago.
