Rengeruk, a Form Four Student at Kenswed High School, blasted off from the leading group in the third lap.
She then toyed around the field opening a 100m gap, winning in 33; 54.4.
She says that last year won in junior race and coming to the race for the second time her aim was to win in the senior race and also she wants to try her best in Africa Cross Country and Commonwealth Games.
“My reason to come here for the second time in the course was to win the race, this is to culminate what I won last year as a junior. Though the race was too challenging I managed to endure for a win,” said the 2013 world Junior 3000m champion.
However, she was able to beat experienced 2016 Valencia and Barcelona marathon champion Valarie Aiyabei and former Commonwealth Youth champion Stacy Ndiwa.
Aiyabei finished third at the Berlin Marathon was second clocking 34:23.2 followed by Ndiwa, the former world cross country silver medallist to close the top three in 34:35.1.
In men’s 10km race it was between siblings as position one and three were taken by brothers Emmanuel Bett and Josephat Kipchirchir while Alfred Barkach in between as in the second position.
Bett, the young brother of Kipchirchir won the race timing 30:00.08 with Barkach in second at 30:01.9 and Kipchirchir 30:02.1.
Upstart Robert Kiprop West Pokot-based runner and Michael Kibet were the winners of 8km junior men.
