This comes after two women were hit by a speeding vehicle who were standing on the road side on Tuesday where they died while receiving treatment at Machakos Level Five Hospital.

Speaking on Wednesday when he led the area residents in erecting temporary bumps on the road, MP Mbui has said that he has agreed with the engineer assigned to the road to erect permanent bumps within the shortest time possible.

“We know that bumps should have been erected on this road long time ago and I have been persuading the engineer to work on it. They have been taking their sweet time, but today they have agreed to come and tell us how they will help us reduce the speed of vehicles on this road,” said Mbui.

Mbui has also called on drivers using the road to drive carefully and slowly to avoid causing unnecessary accidents.

MP Mbui also used the chance to send his condolences to the families of the two who lost their lives in the Tuesday's accident.

He also added that he is in talks with the area MCA to look for a space where fruits and vegetable traders will be carrying out their business in the King'aatuani Market.

The MP seeks to relocate the traders because they have been doing the business near the road which is dangerous to their lives.
