Kavuludi on Tuesday claimed the commission has received threats from unknown people who want it to stop the ongoing police vetting or face unspecified consequences.

He said some senior officers on the vetting panel are being threatened by unknown people.

“Let those who think that they can intimidate or threaten us to stop the police vetting know that we are determined to do our work,” he told journalists in Nakuru town where the vetting of traffic police officers in North and South Rift region is currently ongoing.

Kavuludi said vetting of police officers is the mandate of the commission, stating that the process will go on as scheduled.

The chairperson at the same time assured police officers that the vetting process will be fair and transparent.

He added that the commission is determined to get rid of rogue officers from the service.

The police force is among the sectors that are said to be most corrupt in the country.
