National Police Service Commission (NPSC) chair Johnston Kavuludi has said all police officers who will oversee the 2017 polls will be vetted.
Speaking in Nakuru on Monday, ahead of the evaluation of 330 traffic officers in the Rift Valley region, Kavuludi said that the exercise will be completed by August 2017, just in time for the general election.
The NPSC chair said 1,556 police have been evaluated, with 1, 501 officers passing the vetting.
“We shall complete vetting of all police officers very soon because we are through with the senior officers and we are now employing a different mechanism to vet the junior officers," said Kavuludi, as quoted by the Nation.
Kavuludi said that 33 officers were discharged from the service, after being found incompetent to serve.
