The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has said that the next phase of the police vetting exercise is set to begin.
Speaking after paying a courtesy call to Uasin Gishu County Commissioner, NPSC chair Johnstone Kavuludi said the main target will be traffic officers and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
According to Kavuludi, approximately 8,000 police officers will be vetted and the commission will be majoring in integrity, professional and promotion.
The NPSC chair, however, sought to dispel fears of intimidation and harassment during the exercise expected to kick off in January 2016.
"The commission will be conducting the second phase of vetting and the officers should get ready and avoid any fears," he said.
According to the NPSC, the vetting has helped in transforming the service since the public is invited to give their views on how the police service should be transformed apart from identifying rogue officers.
