Kenyans of goodwill have promised to help Kawangware fire victims with food and other basic needs.
On Tuesday, October 31, Kameme FM promised to visit the Kawangware fire victims on Friday kicking a fundraiser to help those affected back on their feet.
Led by Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, the group promised to build them small houses as a way to console them and provide food and clothes before they get back to their normal lives.
Waititu promised to give Sh500,000 shillings while Kuria has offered Sh200,000 to help in the construction work. Other Kenyans have also promised to assist.
A section of Kawangware residents incurred losses after an angry mob stormed their houses and set them ablaze on Sunday. Area MP Simba Arati is accused of financing the violence.
Following this incident, the government has deployed security officers in the area to ensure residents are safe.
