A section of Kaya elders drawn from Kilifi County have warned of a possible constitutional crisis ahead of the October 26 repeat polls. In a statement by the group's Secretary General Joseph Karisa, the association called on President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga to drop their hard-line stance on electoral reforms and embrace dialogue."Politicians have failed to unite the country and come up with a solution that will enable IEBC to conduct the repeat poll in a transparent manner as stipulated in the Constitution," said Karisa."Let all the involved parties hold talks that will unlock the stalemate. Kenyans are tired with the ongoing push and pull over conditions for the fresh election,” he added. He further called on Kenyans to uphold peace and unity in the run up to the repeat elections, adding that Kenya must not return to the unfortunate events of political uncertainty that rocked the country in 2007/2008.Both Uhuru and Raila are set to lock horns again on October 26 in the repeat of the presidential polls.
