The move follows an ownership row between the national broadcaster and the county government of Mombasa.

Last Friday, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho led a group of county askaris and youths to bring down a perimeter wall saying its construction had not been approved as there were pending issues that needed to be resolved.

“Whoever wants to implement a project in Mombasa must seek approval from the county government. The law is very clear on this, and it must be followed,” said Joho then as quoted by the Daily Nation.

The county government claims that the defunct Mombasa County Council had bought part of the land in 1996.

Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa has threatened to arrest Joho over the Friday incident.

According to kbctv.co.ke, lawyers from both sides will meet Thursday to determine what the court order issued earlier meant about the wall’s construction.

Reports say KBC managing director Waithaka Waihenya who arrived in Mombasa on Tuesday met Marwa and County Commissioner Evans Achoki to ensure the property is secured.
