The KCB Karen Masters Pro Am tournament is on at the par 71 Karen Country club.

46 Pros have been paired with 46 amateurs in today’s event with the action running up to 4 pm ahead of the prize giving ceremony.

Friday’s showdown will see ladies amateur field led by former lady captain of Karen Rose Musau playing of handicap 20. Rose has expressed optimism of playing well at the pro-am tournament.

“We are excited that KCB bank is sponsoring the masters and with the course looking superb then hopefully my scores will be just as a good today”, said Rose.

Sweden’s Alexander Venster is elated with the course so far adding that he looks forward to a great outing today. The PGA Pros include Ireland’s Gary Hurley, Edouard Espana of Spain, Matt Ford, Zarko Petrovic, Ross Kellet, and Denmark’s Karsten Maas among other players.

The event has attracted golfers from a number of African countries. Ugandan Deo Akope will be envisaging to grab an early lead during day one event and build on the wave heading into the Sunday’s showdown.

Speaking earlier Friday during the final practice round, Akope has reiterate that the local regional golfers stand a chance of performing well at the outing.

“It’s exciting to be in Kenya for the KCB Karen Masters, I look forward to finishing well at the event”, added Deo.

KCB Bank has injected 30 Million shs towards the hosting of the inaugural KCB Karen Masters that runs from Friday 17- Sunday 19 March 2017. The event has attracted 68 pros.
