Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) beat rivals Homeboyz 18-16 in a closely fought semi-final at the Impala grounds on Saturday night to book a ticket to the finals of the Impala Floodlights.

The Lion will now meet hosts Impala Saracens who also booked a slot to this year’s final after securing a 20-10 win over university side, Mean Machine in an enticing match.

Kennedy Moseti booted for the ‘Lions’ in the closing minutes to secure the all-important slot.

Former Kenya Simba captain Brian Nyikuli went over the whitewash on his debut for KCB before Mohammed Omolo slotted in a penalty from close range for a 16-15 before the half in favor of the Deejays.

The small but mighty Kennedy Moseti would seal the victory for KCB with a clean drop goal to secure an 18-16 win.

Meanwhile, both Impala and Mean Machine found the going tough and struggled to find the breakthrough in a shaky opening half but after endless pressure, Impala drew first blood, going over the whitewash for a converted try.

Mark Kwemoi’s well-taken drop-goal sealed the win for the hosts to book a final with KCB who thrashed Homeboyz 18-16 in the late kickoff.
