A 16-year-old KCPE candidate from Nyasagati primary school in Kisii South sub-county on Tuesday afternoon gave birth to a bouncing baby boy just a few minutes after she sat for her english paper.
Confirming the incident Nyasagati primary head teacher Erastus Abuta said the invigilators reported that the girl started having labor pains just a few minutes before finishing her second paper and was rushed to the hospital.
"The girl was rushed to Iyabe medical center where we've been informed that she gave birth to a healthy baby boy," said Abuta.
The headteacher, however, said her parents were aware that she was expectant.
KCPE kicked off on Tuesday. So far Kisii county has reported the first incident of a pregnant student.
