Over five hundred class eight pupils from 10 schools in Kisii Central ward in Nyaribari Chache received free geometrical sets from a community-based organisation.
Speaking on Friday at Kisii Primary School during the exercise, the chief executive officer for Sir Henry Foundation, Nickson Nyakweba said the main reason of coming up with the initiative was to help pupils who come from poor backgrounds.
"Our foundation is out to help poor pupils. We are giving out geometrical sets and success cards to the candidates so that they can be encouraged," he said.
Nyakweba also advised the pupils to avoid exam irregularities.
"Prepare yourself well so that you do the exam independently and get genuine marks. You have heard about leakages, these are misleading, don't follow them," he added.
The headteacher of Kisii Primary School, Grace Nyamweya hailed the Sir Henry Foundation for giving back to the society through helping candidates.
She said they have prepared well their candidates despite the September teachers strike that paralysed learning in public schools.
