The Kenya National Examination Council (Knec) has announced that this year's KCPE

results will be announced today (Tuesday).

The quick marking and compilation of results was facilitated by the automated Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) machines that sped-up the marking process.

By Wednesday, every candidate will know how they performed in the exam.

Knec Chairman George Magoha was earlier quoted saying the council bought 20 machines that cost them Sh100 million.

“Through the aid of the Government, the council has purchased 20 machines which are going to ease the work of marking with great efficiency and we anticipate that the compilation of results will be concluded earlier than any other time before,” Magoha said.

To access their results through SMS, candidates will send their index number to 22252 or go to the Knec website and enter their index numbers.
