Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates at Joytown Special Primary School started off their national exams well on Tuesday without any problem.
Speaking from his office, the school headmaster James Macharia said that the candidates had been well prepared to sit for the exams.
"We have no doubt that our candidates are ripe for the task ahead of them in the next three days. Despite their various challenges, we expect that they will do to the best of their abilities," said Macharia.
Macharia noted that previous candidates have been performing relatively well and expressed optimism that the current ones would do even better.
"It is our norm here that every year we try to do better than the previous one. This is something we have perfected and it always work for us. We are hopeful that even this year it shall be the same," he added.
The headmaster, however, stated that the candidates had various problems seeing that some of them even have mental issues.
"These are not like the other ordinary candidates without any problem. Nevertheless, our staffs are ready, willing and prepared to help the supervisors and invigilators to make the exercise a success," he said.
