Girls candidates in Uasin Gishu county scooped all the top five positions in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results released on Tuesday by the Ministry of Education.
A spot check on results for schools that traditionally register impressive results in KCPE examinations indicate that Dante Asiko of the Queen of Angels Academy in Eldoret town was the top candidate in Uasin Gishu after scoring 436 out of the possible 500 marks.
Fellow candidate from the same school owned by the Catholic church, Doreen Chepng'etich had 435 marks.
"I had a target of 425 marks and I never imagined that I could the among the best in the county but I thank God for this far," said Chepng'etich who hopes to join Alliance girls for her secondary education.
Two girls from Little Lambs Academy in the outskirts of Eldoret town Kiplagat Faith Jeptoo and Soi Naomi Chemutai also scored 435 marks each.
At the Greenville Academy, Cindy Barasa scored 431 marks with a Sudanese boy Athian Manyuen who sat for his KCPE exams at Eldo Baraka school in Kapsoya estate, Eldoret town scoring 425 marks.
Collins Maranga of Queen of Angels Academy also scored 425.
