A KCSE candidate from Kilembwa secondary school in Mwala sub-county, Machakos county collapsed on Sunday night while on preps with other students.

Confirming the incident via phone, Mwala sub-county Director of education Julia Kwa Mwonga said that the student lost his life as he was being rushed to Machakos level five hospital for treatment. 

"He had developed breathing difficulties before collapsing, where he died on his way to the hospital," said Kwa Mwonga. 

She went ahead to note that the incident left the other candidates in awe where counsellors were called to come and talk to them. 

Police have launched investigations on the incident where the body was taken to Machakos level five hospital for Postmortem.
