Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi has cautioned KCSE candidates against engaging in any form of malpractice in the examinations that kicked off on Monday.

This year there is a total of 577,253 registered candidates with an increase of 54,383 as compared to 2015.

“Sufficient measures have been put in place for the exams to be conducted in a good environment,” said Matiangi

Matiangi is also expected to lead senior government officers across the country in supervision of the examination.

There have been numerous cases of exam irregularities with last year seeing cancellation of 5,101 student’s results after they were found to have participated in exam irregularities.

The examination ends on November 30, 2016.
