A teenage girl from Migori committed suicide on Wednesday evening on realizing that she had not achieved her dream of being admitted to a public university on her second attempt.

Carren Ouma, the Nation reports, jumped into a well when she recieced the tragic news of failing to make it to campus after managing a C- grade, similar to her 1016's first attempt.

Last year, Ms Ouma managed yet again to score a C (minus) on her first attempt from Osingo secondary before taking a second stab at a Kuria based institution in 2017.

"She first sat for her exams at Osingo before moving to a school in Kuria and still ended getting the same grade," said Chief Mwai Odila of Osingo location.

According to the Nation, shocked parents refused to give interview over the tragic news of their daughter.

Education Cabinet Secretary released KCSE results on Wednesday with those who attained minimum university entry requirement declining from 88,000 to 70,000 in 2017.
