A 16-year-old girl from Busia broke record after becoming the first female student to beat boys in KCSE- 30 years since the school started.
Faith Nafula Ochakara, 16, from Machakusi village scored A- (75 points) to lead at St Josephs Chakol Secondary School in the recently released KCSE examination results.
Her elder sister, Everlyne Asande emerged third with a B plain.
She had secured a place at Kolanya Girls High School (national school) but couldn't join the institution as her parents were unable to pay school fees for her.
Nafula scored 'A' in Physics, Mathematics and Christian Religious Education.
She scored A- in Business Studies, B+ in Chemistry and Kiswahili, and B- in English and Biology.
