An exam supervisor was on Tuesday morning arraigned in a Garissa court to answer alleged charges that involved tempering with examination materials.
Abdi Abdullahi, a teacher at the Abu-Ubeida Secondary School in Garissa was arrested by Knec detectives after it emerged that he 'mistakenly' opened the incorrect examination sheets during the mathematics paper but failed to alert the KNEC officials on time.
Abdullahi appeared before the senior Resident Magistrate Victor Asiyo, where pleaded not guilty and was released on a cash bail of Sh500, 000.
The charge sheet read that on November 7 , at Abu-Ubeida Secondary School in Garissa, Abdi Abdullahi negligently made use of the said examination materials to the improper and unfair conduct of the KCSE examination for 2016.
The Magistrate ordered the prosecution to supply the accused Abdullahi with copies of witness statements, charge sheets and document exhibits.
The case will be heard next on January 12, next year.
