Barely a day before the repeat presidential elections, opposition leader Raila Odinga now says Jubilee has directed KDF to vote in NASA strongholds, where elections are likely to flop on Thursday.
Although he has since withdrawn from the race citing lack of reforms in IEBC, Odinga adds that the move is set to hoodwink the public that his supporters may have taken part in the exercise.
“I am aware that KDF is set to vote on Thursday in my perceived strongholds. They have already started marking ballot papers.
“The main aim is to portray a negative picture that my supporters will defy my order and vote. What they don’t remember is that I am not part of that election,” said Odinga during his Monday’s Nyamira rally.
To authenticate the exercise, Odinga said, the government will use ballot papers illegally printed along Mombasa Road by ELAM printers.
“They printed ballot papers at ELAM and that is what KDF will use to hoodwink the world,” said the ODM leader.
During an interview with Mt. Kenya vernacular radios, President Uhuru Kenyatta said he is optimistic that 55 percent of voters will turnout for Thursday’s election despite opposition boycott.
Already, Odinga has called for demonstrations across the country and is set to make what he calls a major announcement on Wednesday, hours to the Thursday’s repeat poll.
