Stolen items worth thousands of shillings were recovered at Kambi Mwangi area in a store used by the suspect.

Eldoret West police boss Samwel Mutunga said that the suspect has been operating in the area for ten years.

"People know him as KDF officer. He always puts on tracksuits to disguise himself as a sportsman yet in the real sense he is a criminal," said Mutunga.

The suspect has been paraded with stolen items at Eldoret West police station.

The recovered items include gas cylinders, doors, chairs, seats, TV sets and other electronics.

Mutunga has said that the suspect is identified as Hassan from Kainuk in Turkana and that his fingerprints has been taken to find out if he is linked to other criminal incidents in the region.

"The suspect will be charged once the investigations are over. He will remain in custody awaiting trial," Mutunga added.
