The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has announced the dates for national recruitment of individuals wishing to join the military.
KDF has also introduced new requirements for candidates who will take part in the recruitment exercise slated to take place from September 19 to October 18, 2016.
Among the new requirements, is the weight where male candidates should not weigh more that 54.5kg while the female candidates should not weigh over 50kgs.
"Potential candidates reporting for this exercise must be from the particular areas where we will set up our centres. We will also be interested in the minimum weight of the applicants," read a press statement from KDF.
The positions to be filled include general recruits, constabularies, and tradesmen.
Those seeking to serve as general servicemen are required to be aged between 18 and 26 years and must have scored a grade of D (plain) in their KSCE exams while for the tradesmen, the lowest grade will be D+ (plus) in the KSCE exams.
KDF spokesman Lt Col Paul Njuguna said that the exercise will observe transparency.
