Five suspected  Al Shabaab terrorists were on Monday killed by KDF officers.

The KDF officers recovered six AK 47 riffles with 321 bullets, three grenades and several explosive devices.

According to the Military spokesman David Obonyo, the officers  have been trailing the suspects as part of Operation Linda Boni.

The five were killed after the officers laid ambush in Bodhei area of the forest.

"The suspects killed are part of the group that has been terrorising residents in the area," Obonyo said.

He assured that KDF will continue tracking the rest of the terrorists until the area is free from all threats from the terror group.

"We remain committed to our constitutional mandate of ensuring peace and security in our country", he noted.Obonyo urged residents to report any suspicious individuals who might have escaped with injuries or those seeking medical attention to security officers.

 Al Shabaab terrorists have been carrying out series of attacks in several parts of the country following Kenya's contribution of soldiers to AMISOM.
