Reports indicate that the five accused persons were arrested last Saturday in a house in Lang’ata by Anti-Terror Police Unit officers over being possession of explosives.

The suspects are Francis Otieno Oluoch (KDF officer), Johnson Nyarangi Omaiyo, Simon Muturi Gichuki, Robert Makini Osano and Nathaniel Kiprono Tarus.

The prosecution told the court that at the time of arrest, the five were in the process of deliberating how to sell suspected improvised explosive devices.

Four of the suspects will be remanded for five days pending completion of investigations by the prosecution while the other has been released on a Sh50 000 cash bail.

The case will be heard next on August 29.
