A Kenya Defence Forces officer was hacked to death by unknown people at his Gilgil house on Thursday night.
According to the Star, the suspected thugs attacked the officer said to be in his late 30s at his home, killed him before dragging his body to a nearby road.
He lived alone at his home situated near Wellspring Schools at the time of the incident.
No arrests have been made. His body was moved the body to Gilgil mortuary as police said investigations into the incident have started.
One of the witnesses, Joel Kimani, said the officer’s body which had deep cuts was discovered by the public.
"The officer had been living in the house for some years. He was a quiet person. The heinous murder has left us in fear," Kimani said.
A senior police officer told the Star they are working with their KDF counterparts to probe the murder.
"Some household goods were stolen during the incident and we are yet to identify the motive behind this murder," he added.
