Police officers in Kisii County have launched a manhunt for a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer who allegedly killed a primary school teacher after they disagreed at a local bar on Thursday last week.
Kisii County police commander Abdi Hassan said police are still pursuing for the officer who fled after committing the crime.
“Police are still hunting for the suspect who is at large. He stabbed the deceased Thomas Ondimu while they were at a local bar at Kiamirega after they disagreed,” said Hassan.
The commander called on residents to volunteer information to police officers which will lead to the arrest of the suspect.
“Members of the public with information about the suspect should inform the officers so that he can be arrested and taken to court to face murder charges,” he said.
He said it is not clear why the two disagreed but investigations are ongoing.
“We will give full details as to why the two disagreed leading to the stabbing because police officers are still investigating the matter,” he added.
Abdi said no one is above the law.
This comes barely a month after yet another KDF officer was arrester after he attacked police officers and journalists in Kisii.
