On Wednesday, the Kenya Air Force received two helicopters from the United States which intend to aid in the war against Al Shabaab.
The Kenya Air Force was given Two Bell Huey II helicopters which will be deploying rapid response units to and from Somalia.
"They will bolster the KDF’s capacity to combat Al Shabaab, an effort that will bring more stability and peace to East Africa," US ambassador Robert Godec said as reported by The Star.
Godec highlighted the helicopters ability to function in difficult environments.
"We work to build our mutual security and peace throughout the region so that both of our countries are safer and more secure," he said.
According to the ambassador Sh11.5 billion has been spent on military equipment and support by the American government for Kenyan soldiers in the past year.
